Conference objective: to provide information on new and upcoming innovative practices, solutions, products and materials, and their use in zero-energy buildings (better than nearly zero-energy) and on energy self-sufficient areas and regions

Target group: designers, representatives of companies, representatives of R&D, students

Conference programme: will be approved by the Scientific Committee including the selection of product presentations

Topics

Focus on buildings (new constructions and modifications) regardless of their size or usage, on areas and regions.

Topic 1: Innovative Ideas

  • new visions and research and development trends
  • innovative architectural and town planning solutions for buildings, areas and regions
  • examples of the public administration approach and its role
  • product presentations
  • examples for inspiration:
    • smart and innovative solutions such as building envelopes, low tech solutions
    • approaches to designing truly energy-efficient buildings for the climate in 2050
    • solution for regions (e.g. Vienna-Aspern)
    • conceptual architectural designs of buildings
    • decentralisation, the sharing economy
    • design tools, optimisation

Topic 2: Innovative materials and components

  • existing products and building materials – examples of their use in practice, experience and recommendations
  • products and materials under development – examples of specific innovations that are not yet listed on the market, an overview of possible developments
  • product presentations
  • examples for inspiration:
    • solutions for reconstructions (partly, step by step)
    • use of new materials and components
    • products and solutions to remove thermal bridges
    • potential use of nanotechnology

Topic 3: Innovation in technology

  • technology related to the construction project and its surroundings (HVAC, energy resources including renewable energy sources, power engineering, water management, etc.)
  • existing products and comprehensive solutions – examples of their application in practice, experience and recommendations
  • products and materials under development – examples of specific innovations that are not yet listed on the market, an overview of possible developments
  • product presentations
  • examples for inspiration:
    • solutions for reconstructions (partly, step by step)
    • decentralised and other innovative solutions for ventilation
    • concept for the use of photo-voltaic and other renewable energy sources, energy storage
    • use of rainwater and grey water

Possible Forms of Presentation

LECTURE: 15-20 minute presentation, no promotion of a company/product, paper in the Conference Proceedings in the scope of 6 pages

POSTER: 3 minute presentation + A1 poster with a contribution in the conference foyer, paper in the Conference Proceedings in the scope of 2 pages

PRODUCT PRESENTATION: 3 minute presentation, intended for both established and emerging companies presenting a specific product or solution. The Scientific Committee decides on inclusions in the programme. The realness and newness of a solution are the main selection criteria. The presentation must be focused technically, not commercially.
